Dimitris Papalexopoulos is an architect, Professor at the School of Architecture, National Technical University of Athens. His post - graduate course on “Architecture and Information Technology” (www.ntua.gr/archtech) won at 1998  the 3d Price of the ACADIA international competition on “Libraries on the Information Age” and participated in international exhibitions and conferences.

Co-organization of international symposiums on architecture and I.T. (A2B – Mobility / Immobility, Basel) and on intelligent environments (2nd International I.E.T. Conference). Researches on interaction design, parametric design and building knowledge management. Member of the 2006 EC expert group for the elaboration and evaluation of the Digital Territories concept. Member of the steering committee of the Intelligent Environments Conferences (since 2006) (http://intelligentenvironments.org/ ).

Author of articles on architecture and I.T.

Co-author (with Eleni Kalafati) of Takis Zenetos, Visioni digitali, architetture construite, EdilStampa, 2006.

Author of Digital Regionalism, Libro 2008

Archsign, his architectural firm (www.archsign.gr ), develops building design concepts for evolving space activities through I.T.. His design practice since 1980 includes renovations and new buildings projects in the private and public sector. Recent architectural works refer to the integration of space and information technology and intelligent buildings. A Mediterranean redefinition of locality through I.T. is researched.

Architectural work refers to renovations and new building design for the Public sector and individuals. There exist also numerous projects of interior design.
Recent design work refers also to the integration of space and information technology as in Serres Public Library, Hellafarm factory of biotechnology, the complex of university spaces for teleconferencing, the digital museum event (permanent col. of MMA Thessaloniki), the integration of smart building technologies to building design.
